Fleeting Nature
Chroma
Made from 251 hand-cut colors, each one dyed naturally using flowers, roots, fruits, and leaves.
No artificial dyes. No preservatives. Just nature, captured for a moment.
The colors will shift and fade over time, just like memories, just like us.
It is not a flaw, it is nature.
It will fade.
Nature is designed to vanish.
Leaves turn golden, then fold back into the soil.
Flowers bloom, thrive, and then disappear.
Nothing stays. Not in the natural world. Not in us either.
We are stubborn. We try to make things last forever.
We hold on too tightly. We miss the beauty by fighting the ending.
Flowers are not meant to last. They exist to teach us presence.
They bloom, they dazzle, and then they are gone.
If you are not paying attention, you miss them entirely.
I was caught not being present. I tried to foresee the future.
Tried to find the cracks before they broke open.
The pain we had left unspoken grew too heavy to carry.
And no matter how hard I tried to hold it all together,
some things are meant to shift, to fade, to be let go.
We are strange creatures.
We try to freeze the colors of fleeting things.
And we try to erase the vividness of what deserves to stay.
This piece holds the moment when I stopped reaching forward
and sat with what was already slipping away.
The beauty. The sorrow. The presence.
The colors in this piece will change with time. Some will vanish.
Each time you see it, it will be slightly different from the time before.
Just like us.
Because we too have a Fleeting nature.
