Refraction
I stopped creating for a while.
That first piece came from survival; raw, instinctive.
No concept. No questions. Just paper, grief, and glue.
I kept life as usual. Creative drought wasn’t a lack of ideas,
but the quiet belief that I wasn’t truly an artist.
Then life reminded me: You don’t have to suffer to create.
I found peace in my chest, soft and strong at once.
Magic happened in the calm, spontaneous, serendipitous,
everything aligning as if it was meant to be.
A trip to a place called Gate of Heaven, the bluest lagoon I’ve ever seen.
Life felt like an offering, a whisper saying, Thank you for trusting me.
When I came home, I made this as a gift.
No pressure. No big idea. Just celebration. A circle of presence.
This piece isn’t about healing. It’s about what happens after.
When you remember that joy is allowed.
This is what comes after the storm, when light bends beneath the surface
and new depths reveal themselves.
Refraction can bend Sediment into unexpected color, just as our hardest moments can become something beautiful.
